What: Journalists are invited to a two-day symposium commemorating the 10th anniversary of Stanford's Global Climate and Energy Project (GCEP). Experts will review GCEP's first decade of innovative energy research and discuss future energy challenges. Other highlights include the North American rollout of the U.N.-sponsored Global Energy Assessment, which will be available online Oct. 20, and technical talks on the latest GCEP research on solar energy, advanced energy storage and other technologies.

"GCEP The First 10 Years": A retrospective with Stanford faculty and founding sponsors ExxonMobil and Schlumberger

"Grand Challenges in the Future of Energy": GCEP Director Sally Benson leads a discussion with Stanford scholars and corporate partners GE and DuPont

Energy Tutorials: Stanford experts will explain the fundamentals of geoengineering, electrocatalysis, exergy, and energy and Earth sciences.

When: Wednesday, Oct. 10, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 11, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
